Location: Crosby, Texas – ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals

Job Summary

The Chemical Loader is responsible for the safe handling, transfer, loading, and unloading of raw materials, chemical intermediates, and finished products at the ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals facility in Crosby, Texas. This position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are transported and shipped safely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and transportation regulations. The Chemical Loader is responsible for operating material handling equipment, completing shipping documentation, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely load, unload, and transfer raw materials and finished products while adhering to applicable safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and DOT regulations.
  • Load and unload ISO containers, tank trucks, railcars, totes, drums, and other chemical transportation vessels.
  • Follow and comply with standard operating procedures and established work instructions.
  • Complete all required safety, maintenance, and shipping documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and review Bills of Lading and other shipping documents to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Verify proper labeling and placarding of outgoing shipments in accordance with applicable transportation regulations.
  • Maintain required safety certifications and participate in training programs, safety meetings, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Operate forklifts, fifth-wheel trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collect samples and perform basic quality control checks as required.
  • Communicate laboratory results and operational information accurately to supervisors and operating personnel.
  • Effectively communicate with operators, supervisors, drivers, contractors, and other plant personnel.
  • Perform routine housekeeping and maintain clean, organized, and safe loading and storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory management and material tracking activities as needed.
  • Support plant operations and perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements amp; Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Process Technology degree or relevant chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, material handling, shipping, logistics, or related industrial operations preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Basic mathematical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, safety requirements, and supervisor instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, industrial vehicles, or material handling equipment preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds between floor and waist height.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and climb ladders throughout the facility as required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to participate on the facility emergency response team.
