Job Description Step into a hands-on lab role where your attention to detail and commitment to safety directly support critical chemical testing operations. Working in a modern laboratory environment, you'll play a key part in ensuring accurate, timely results that drive operational decisions. This is a contract position suited to someone who thrives in a structured, shift-based setting and enjoys working with both people and technology.

About the Role: In this position, you will perform routine and specialized laboratory analyses, operating a variety of instruments to generate high-quality data. You will support continuous operations through a 12-hour shift pattern, rotating between days and nights, ensuring consistent and reliable testing coverage. Your work will help maintain compliance with laboratory standards and support safe, efficient plant performance.

Key Responsibilities: Perform chemical analyses and tests according to established laboratory methods and standard operating procedures. Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. Record, verify, and maintain test data in laboratory information systems and other digital records.

Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage. Adhere to laboratory safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, safe chemical handling, and housekeeping practices. Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on lab equipment in accordance with schedules and documentation requirements.

Communicate test results and observations to supervisors and operations personnel in a clear and timely manner. Support quality control activities, including running standards, blanks, and participating in proficiency checks. Key Requirements: Proven experience working in a chemical laboratory or similar analytical environment.

Strong working knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling practices. Demonstrated proficiency with laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, titrators, chromatographs, or similar equipment. Experience with data entry and use of laboratory information systems or electronic data platforms.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in recording and reviewing data. Ability to follow written procedures, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines consistently. Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 7/2 - 7/4 schedule, including both day and night shifts.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, handle samples, and work safely in a lab environment. Desirable Skills: Experience in an industrial, petrochemical, or refinery laboratory setting. Familiarity with ISO, GLP, or other quality management systems.

Exposure to troubleshooting instrument issues and coordinating service or repairs. Basic understanding of process operations and how lab results support plant performance. Competence with spreadsheet software and basic data analysis tools.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in Chemistry, Laboratory Technology, or a related scientific field preferred. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline considered an advantage.

Relevant laboratory certifications or safety training (e.g., HAZCOM, OSHA, or site-specific safety) preferred. If you're a detail-focused lab professional ready to contribute to a high-performing team in a rotating shift environment, apply now to be considered for this contract opportunity.
