Job Description Step into a hands-on laboratory role where your wet chemistry expertise and oil sample testing skills directly support critical R&D and quality initiatives. This is a contract opportunity paying $33 per hour, offering consistent weekday hours and exposure to advanced analytical techniques in a professional lab environment. About the Role: As a Lab Analyst, you will perform routine and complex chemical analyses on oil and related samples to support product development, process optimization, and quality control.

You will be responsible for accurate sample preparation, execution of wet chemistry methods, and operation of key analytical instruments. Your work will ensure reliable data generation, enabling informed technical decisions across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Perform wet chemistry testing on oil and related samples following established methods and SOPs.

Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for analysis, ensuring proper handling, labelling, and storage. Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation, including Gas Chromatography (GC), CHNS elemental analysers, and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Record, analyse, and interpret test results, ensuring data integrity and traceability in electronic and paper-based systems.

Troubleshoot basic instrument and method issues, escalating complex problems as needed. Compile and format test reports using Microsoft Office applications for review by scientists, engineers, and management. Adhere to all laboratory safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Support general laboratory housekeeping, inventory management, and calibration activities to maintain a compliant and efficient lab environment. Key Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline. Proven laboratory experience in a professional or academic setting involving wet chemistry techniques.

Hands-on experience handling and testing oil samples in a lab environment. Demonstrated experience operating Gas Chromatography (GC) systems. Experience performing CHNS elemental analysis and interpreting results.

Experience using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) for materials or oil-related analyses. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to follow written procedures accurately.
