The salary range for this position is $24.00 to $27.00 per hour. Shift time for this position is 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Chemical Engineering Intern to join our team for a hands-on experience in our metal surface treatments division. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and skills in chemical engineering within the context of aerospace and defense technologies.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and optimizing metal surface treatment processes.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers to improve existing methods.
  • Investigate new techniques for enhancing surface properties.
  • Chemical Etching: Understanding the chemical reactions involved.
  • Electroplating: Learning about electrodeposition processes.
  • Anodizing: Exploring oxidation-based surface treatments.
  • Passivation: Studying methods to prevent corrosion.
  • Coating Applications: Familiarizing yourself with coatings like paints, enamels, and protective films.
  • Conduct Periodic Testing and wet chemistry titrations and dilutions.
  • Analyze samples using laboratory equipment such as pH meters, XRF metal analyzer, spectrometer, hydrometer, microscopes, thermometers, and centrifuge.
  • Validate treatment processes by analyzing results and ensuring consistency.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and control teams to maintain high standards.
  • Prepare technical reports on tests, findings, and process improvements.
  • Document process parameters, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including materials scientists, production engineers, and technicians.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge.
