Agropur is looking for a Project Engineer - Process Optimization (Dairy Industry) to support the continued improvement of our dairy manufacturing operations at our Granby facility. In this role, you will analyze production processes, identify opportunities to improve yield performance, reduce raw material losses, and drive operational excellence across the plant.

Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams, you will develop sustainable solutions, lead improvement initiatives, and contribute to projects that deliver measurable business results.

An environment that allows you to focus on what truly matters:

  • Flexible group insurance plan including telemedicine
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Opportunities to invest in your development (career growth, etc.)
  • Pension plan with employer contributions
  • Salary Scale 005: $84,600 to $105,800 (Base salary will be determined according to your academic background, experience, training, and positionrelated competencies.)

Your role in achieving results:

  • Analyze manufacturing processes and equipment to identify inefficiencies, yield losses, and improvement opportunities.
  • Map production flows and monitor key operational performance indicators.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on maximizing raw material utilization and process efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Leverage production data and ERP systems to support decision-making and operational performance improvements.
  • Prepare process designs, equipment specifications, and cost estimates for optimization and capital projects.
  • Participate in capital project execution from concept development through commissioning and start-up.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support business decisions and project prioritization.
  • Collaborate with plant teams to drive change management and secure stakeholder buy-in for new initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical resource for projects related to process optimization and operational performance.
  • Work closely with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to support project execution and implementation.

What we are looking for to deliver these results:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Food, Process, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering, process optimization, or continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the dairy or food manufacturing industry is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in a process-driven industry such as food, dairy, petrochemical, or other complex manufacturing environments is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of industrial processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and operational data analysis (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Availability to travel occasionally between the Granby and Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil facilities.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required to collaborate with colleagues and partners across Canada.

A role for those who want to contribute to measurable and sustainable results.
