The Sales Representative is responsible for delivering Volume and Profit Growth through effective execution of a sales strategy in a geographical territory or with an assigned customer base. The sales representative will work to attract and retain business through a deep understanding of Colonial Chemical's products and our customer's needs. The successful employee will be able to identify and develop sales opportunities that best meet these needs.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
  • Evaluate business needs and build productive, consultative sales relationships with customers.
  • Review status of existing accounts and research sales leads by understanding the potential customer base.
  • Maintain a clear and updated view of your sales pipeline.
  • Responsible for negotiating customer pricing, as well as maintaining and coordinating customer quotations in ERP system.
  • Responsibilities for Individual and Sales Team orders.
  • Forecast sales volumes and customer requirements by analyzing sales data and market trends.
  • Identify developing markets to help maintain competitive edge.
  • Other assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager in a chemical or commodities industry.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Dynamics (CRM) and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to successfully drive the sales process from start to close.
  • Expert relationship builder both externally and internally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and customer relationship development.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively in order to achieve goals.
  • Finely tuned listening skills and a proven ability to solve problems giving ability to close a sale.
  • Ability to present company, recognize customer needs and negotiate appropriate value for products and services offered by Colonial.
