Position Overview: The Cheese Merchandiser will oversee the cheese department, managing a team of cheese mongers to ensure operational excellence, product quality, and outstanding customer engagement. This role requires a certified cheese professional with strong leadership skills and a deep knowledge of cheese.
Accountabilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of cheese mongers at multiple locations, providing ongoing training in product knowledge, customer service, and best merchandising practices.
Product Management: Curate and manage a diverse selection of local and artisanal cheeses, ensuring optimal inventory levels, freshness, and quality.
Merchandising Excellence: Design and implement eye-catching displays that highlight our cheese offerings and attract customer interest.
Customer Engagement: Lead initiatives to educate customers about various cheeses, including tastings and pairing suggestions, to enhance their shopping experience.
Operational Oversight: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards, monitoring storage conditions and product quality.
