As a Security Officer Checkpoint Screener in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cruise Ops, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener in a dynamic cruise operations location, where you will help support security-related screening activities, monitor assigned access points, and assist with routine patrols. This role offers the chance to interact with guests and team members while delivering strong communication and customer service. What You'll Do:
  • Provide customer service by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a busy cruise operations location.
  • Screen passengers, visitors, crew members, and/or personal items in accordance with post procedures and access requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited item findings, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while reporting security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor entry points, verify access credentials, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the terminal, boarding areas, and perimeter as directed, with working environments and conditions varying by location.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, which is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
