Job description

Sun Valley Arthritis Center is seeking a professional and dependable Front Office Receptionist to provide excellent customer service while supporting daily administrative operations. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and helps maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming front office.


Responsibilities

  • Greet patients professionally and complete the check-in and check-out processes.
  • Answer incoming calls, return messages, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Schedule and confirm new and established patient appointments.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, referrals, and required documentation.
  • Collect copayments, outstanding balances, and other patient payments.
  • Scan insurance cards, identification, referrals, and medical documents into the electronic health record.
  • Communicate appointment requirements and practice policies to patients.
  • Assist with rescheduling missed or canceled appointments.
  • Coordinate with medical assistants, providers, the insurance coordinator, and billing staff.
  • Monitor front-office messages, incoming faxes, and assigned administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in CareCloud and other practice systems.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Follow opening, closing, safety, and patient-service procedures.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical front-office or customer-service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, referrals, and patient scheduling preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional and compassionate approach when assisting patients.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with CareCloud, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Athelas, or Solutionreach is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
