Job description

Head of Global SEO/AEO

We’re looking for a data-driven Head of Global SEO/AEO to own our worldwide organic growth strategy and execution. In this role, you will scale SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) into high-performing acquisition channels, driving results against business-critical metrics like trial starts, MQLs, and pipeline. You will manage an in-house team alongside external agencies and contractors, pioneering our approach to AI-mediated discovery to win in the new AI-search era.

Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

What you’ll achieve

  • Build the business case for investment in SEO/AEO, owning the channel forecast, budget, and reporting cadence for executive leadership.

  • Own and evolve our end-to-end AEO strategy by bringing proven frameworks, building measurement for brand visibility and citation in AI answer engines, and setting the standard for AI-mediated discovery.

  • Direct our SEO content roadmap and agent-led content strategies, recommending content that matches search/prompt intent, wins against competitors, and converts traffic.

  • Partner with Marketing Ops and Analytics to build attribution and measurement infrastructure tying organic activity directly to PLG and SLG conversion to prioritize roadmap decisions.

  • Lead technical SEO strategy (site architecture, structured data, Core Web Vitals, international/multi-region SEO) and direct content/link-building strategy.

  • Build, hire, and lead a high-performing SEO/AEO team, making critical resource decisions around agency partners and agent vs. human deployment.

  • Serve as the executive-facing SME on SEO/AEO, regularly presenting strategy, performance, and market shifts to senior leadership.

About you

  • 10+ years in SEO with senior team leadership experience in B2B SaaS, including a proven track record of scaling organic into a major revenue-generating acquisition channel across global regions.

  • Demonstrated experience owning organic across both PLG and SLG motions, with accountability for trial starts, MQLs, and pipeline.

  • Hands‑on experience building an AEO strategy, running experiments, establishing measurement, and driving results in AI answer engines.

  • Deep technical SEO fluency across site architecture, structured data/schema, Core Web Vitals, and international SEO, with credibility working alongside engineering teams.

  • Rigorous, data-driven operating style with experience building models, running experiments, making evidence-based prioritization calls, and applying SQL skills.

  • Proven team leadership experience hiring, coaching, and developing talent across multiple regions and time zones.

  • Executive presence with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, and Marketing leadership, representing the channel confidently to senior stakeholders.
