Job description

Job Summary

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of guests and employees to their destination with a high level of service. This position also includes occasional activity outside of the shuttle delivering gift amenities and assisting with guest luggage. This position works primarily afternoon shifts.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport guests and/ or employees safely to and from designated locations around the resort.
  • Assist passengers when entering or exiting vehicle as necessary.
  • Respond to guest calls as needed (gift baskets, supply runs, etc.).
  • Perform inspections of shuttle for mechanical, safety and equipment problems daily.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous manner at all times.
  • Keep shuttle clean of debris and neat in appearance at all times.
  • Engage with passengers and provide a fun environment during the transport.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Job Specifications

Competencies:

  • Must display very good organization and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
  • Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and work with little or no supervision.
  • Clear and concise verbal communication skills especially when communicating via radio.
  • Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a State of Michigan Chauffer’s License.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time while working in an enclosed vehicle; talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
  • Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
  • Must have unrestricted and insurable Michigan driving record. Chauffeur license preferred.
  • Non-smoking candidates preferred.
