Job description

The Chase Card and Connected Commerce Communications team is seeking a communications professional to support external communications for the Branded Card business, including Chase Freedom, Slate and Small Business cards. This role requires experience in public relations, media engagement and integrated communications, with a focus on executing integrated campaigns and contributing to high-impact storytelling.

As an External Communications Senior Associate, Branded Card within the Consumer & Community Banking Communications team, you will play a key role on a high-performing team responsible for telling clear, credible and customer-focused stories about Chase's credit card products and experiences. You will partner across internal stakeholders and agency partners to develop and execute communications campaigns, manage media engagement and support day-to-day external communications.

Job responsibilities

  • Help develop and execute strategic communications and PR campaigns that support business priorities
  • Partner with marketing, legal, controls, business leaders, external partners and agencies to execute campaigns across channels
  • Conduct proactive media outreach, assist with earned influencer engagement programs and support media moments tied to Freedom, Slate and Small Business card campaigns, launches and milestones
  • Draft a variety of communications materials, from media pitches and press releases to executive briefing materials, reactive statements and social media copy
  • Help to oversee and collaborate with communications/PR agency on campaign planning, execution and measurement
  • Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm - both externally and among employees
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and advance storylines across Freedom, Slate and Small Business cards

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in a communications/PR or marketing role
  • Proven success in proactive and reactive media relations and in executing PR campaigns that deliver positive coverage and support business goals
  • Experience in social media management and influencer engagement
  • Experience working in financial services, credit cards, small business products or consumer-facing brands

  • Relationships with lifestyle and/or business/finance media
  • Some domestic travel 
  • Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills, including partnering effectively with executives, peers and other functional groups across the company
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity, demonstrating respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and taking accountability / accepting responsibility
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience with applying measurement tools to demonstrate success 
  • Fluency across social media and other multi-media channels, including in managing social media messaging

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience in a large organization 
  • Experience in a PR agency setting 
  • Executive communications experience and comfort supporting senior leaders 
  • Experience working on an integrated marketing team
