Job description

Established in 1977, Charter Capital Management, LLC is a Brookfield-based registered investment advisory firm providing wealth management and tax preparation services to individual clients. We are seeking a CPA with tax preparation experience who is also interested in a career in the wealth management field.
Job Duties:
  • Prepare client tax returns and tax estimates
  • Assist Lead Advisor in carrying out planning, analysis, investment and other decisions that affect client relationships
  • Prepare, review, and update financial plans, including working with clients to obtain the necessary information and ensure that it is accurately reflected in the plan
  • Coordinate the transfer of client assets to the firm during new client onboarding, working closely with the operations team
  • Work with Lead Advisors to develop and implement asset allocation strategies
  • Rebalance portfolios as needed or as directed by the Lead Advisor working with the client
  • Participate in client meetings and add value to the meeting through the delivery of presentations, facilitation of discussions and preparation of information
  • Create custom worksheets and analysis where needed to answer client questions or research investment opportunities
  • Utilize the firm's CRM and reporting platform (Advyzon) to create reports, manage workflows, and track client meetings, activities and tasks
  • Perform occasional administrative duties as needed to support small office, including preparing paperwork, placing trades, executing fund transfers, etc.
  • Train entry-level positions as needed
  • Grow existing client relationships by adding more assets under management, identifying opportunities for additional services and seeking referrals

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Licensed CPA required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in individual tax preparation
  • Series 65 licensed or willing to obtain within 18 months of hire
  • Proficiency with Lacerte or other tax preparation software, Excel, and Quickbooks applications preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Works well within a small team setting
