Join the Crew of Maui's Most Luxurious Vessels
Ali'i Class Yachts and RED Hospitality are now hiring USCG-licensed Captains for a variety of premium charter experiences. Step aboard vessels that deliver the highest standard of luxury-offering the true "Ali'i" (royalty) experience at sea.
We are seeking dependable Captains with:
  • A valid USCG license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for delivering exceptional, guest-focused hospitality.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe operation of USCG-inspected powerboats and sailboats.
  • Maintain full responsibility for the safety of all crew members and passengers while underway and docked.
  • Operate support vehicles, including a PUC van, for transportation to and from the harbor, as needed.
  • Oversee and delegate all aspects of pre-trip provisioning, vessel preparation, inspection, and post-trip cleaning and resupply.
  • Ensure the crew provides a high-quality, guest-centric, and luxury experience throughout each excursion, including food and beverage service.
  • Assist guests with gear setup, including fitting and instructing on snorkel equipment.
  • Track and report both routine and critical maintenance needs promptly.
  • Understand and strictly follow all accident and emergency protocols.
  • Train team members in deckhand duties in accordance with company standards.
  • Report all injuries and accidents to the Director of Marine Operations on the same day, with completed documentation.
  • Manage assigned crew members and ensure team performance aligns with expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current USCG Captain's Credential:
    • Master 100 Ton Near Coastal with Sailing Endorsement (required for Ali'i Nui)
    • Master 50 Ton Near Coastal with Sailing Endorsement (required for Ali'i Kai)
    • OUPV (required for Ali'i Nani)
  • TWIC Card
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification with AED and Oxygen Provider credentials
  • FCC Marine Radio Operator's Permit

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions, including direct sunlight and fluctuating temperatures
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a consistently positive attitude
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with guests and coworkers
  • Skilled in reading, interpreting, and applying safety regulations and operational procedures
  • Proficient in operating assigned marine equipment and interpreting technical documents
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work holidays, evenings, and weekends
  • Previous sailing experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with local destinations and weather patterns is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of vessel maintenance is a plus
