Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Plumber / Boiler Technician with strong experience in commercial boiler systems and pump diagnostics/repair. This role is responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining mission-critical systems for commercial and industrial clients.

This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring strong troubleshooting ability, professionalism with clients, and the ability to respond quickly to urgent service needs.

Key Responsibilities

Boilers

Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial boilers (gas-fired, electric, and hydronic systems)

  • Perform start-ups, shutdowns, and system optimization
  • Troubleshoot issues related to:
    • Heat exchangers
    • Controls and safeties
    • Expansion tanks
    • Electrical
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs for boilers and hot water systems
  • Ensure all systems are operating efficiently and safely

Pump Systems

  • Diagnose and repair/replace circulator pumps, booster pumps, and lift stations
  • Troubleshoot:
    • Low flow / no flow conditions
    • Cavitation issues
    • Pressure inconsistencies
  • Install and align new pump systems and verify proper operation

Plumbing & Mechanical Systems

  • Service and repair commercial plumbing systems including water, gas, and sewer
  • Perform pipe modifications, valve replacements, and system upgrades
  • Support tank and tankless water heater systems tied to boiler operations
  • Assist in system retrofits and replacements

Diagnostics & Service Delivery

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting with minimal supervision
  • Provide clear communication to clients regarding issues and solutions
  • Document work performed, materials used, and recommendations

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all local, state, and federal codes
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and company standards
  • Ensure all work meets commercial and industrial code requirements

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Plumbing License (Journeyman or Master preferred)
  • Proven experience with:
    • Commercial boiler systems
    • Hydronic heating systems
    • Pump systems (circulators, boosters, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with large commercial facilities (hospitals, high-rises, industrial sites, restaurants)
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs
  • Background in 24/7 service environments
