Per Diem Dispensing Pharmacist

We are currently seeking a Per Diem Dispensing Pharmacist to join our growing team at Catholic Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY. In this role, you will ensure the accurate and timely dispensing of medications, uphold regulatory compliance, and provide exceptional service to patients and staff.

Pharmacy Location: Located within Catholic Health Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY

Schedule: This position will cover holidays as well as PTO and sick time of existing staff as needed. Shifts are available Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with rotating Saturdays, 10:30am-3pm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP and hospital standards
  • Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree with equivalent and acceptable experience from a College of Pharmacy accredited by American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of New York

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retail training
  • Proficiency in multiple EMR systems such as EPIC, Cerner or Meditech
  • Proficiency with dispensing systems such as PioneerRx, Willow Ambulatory, QS1, RX30, Computer Rx, etc. along with experience in pharmacy dispensing

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44 - $79 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
