Chaplain Residents are individuals who participate in a structured residency program, typically within a hospital or healthcare setting, to gain supervised experience in spiritual care. They are usually pursuing advanced education in chaplaincy, such as Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), and work under the guidance of certified chaplains to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff. Chaplain Residents often come from diverse religious backgrounds and learn to provide care that is respectful of different beliefs and cultures. Their training helps them develop skills in counseling, crisis intervention, and ethical decision-making within a healthcare environment.
