Position Title: Catholic Religious Education Coordinator (CREC)
Location: Joint Base Andrews (JBA) Chapel, MD
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Summary:
The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator (CREC) is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and administration of comprehensive Catholic religious education programs at Joint Base Andrews. Working in direct coordination with the Chaplain-in-Charge, the CREC ensures all programs are delivered in a structured, compliant, and mission-supportive manner aligned with Department of Defense (DoD) and Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) requirements.
Duties:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Catholic religious education programs (RCIA, CCD, VBS, Baptismal Prep, and Holy Day events) in alignment with chaplain guidance.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage volunteer teachers and assistants, including maintaining training records and participation tracking.
  • Coordinate with chapel leadership, staff, and councils; conduct parent meetings and support youth ministry engagement.
  • Prepare and submit required deliverables including weekly activity reports, annual program review, after-action reports (AARs), and quarterly financial projections.
  • Develop and submit promotional materials, supply requests, and ministry event proposals (90 days in advance) for chaplain approval.
