What is the role?

This team is focused on transforming Tyson Foods Beef & Pork division through data, enabling better decisions, improved processes, and stronger customer and team member outcomes. The Lead Analyst plays a key role in that transformation by partnering across business and IT to translate business requirements into data products.

This role works closely with business leaders to understand strategies, data needs, operational processes, and how analytics can drive measurable value. The focus is on defining business requirements, shaping data and reporting solutions including AI, and delivering insights that support both day-to-day operations and enterprise initiatives.

Responsibilities span the full analytics lifecycle - from requirements definition and data modeling alignment to supporting delivery of reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics use cases. This role also contributes to larger transformation efforts by ensuring data is trusted, aligned to business definitions, and enabling consistent decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who can connect business context to data, challenge assumptions, and drive clarity. This individual will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decisions, improving transparency, and influencing how Tyson leverages analytics to deliver business results.

Job Responsibilities

Act as the IT partner to the business, aligning data products to business goals and delivering best-in-class data solutions.
Strong subject matter expertise in Food Industry business processes and technical capabilities.
Experience leading complex transformation initiatives that impact business process and technology, ideally legacy system experience.
Actively participate and help guide IT architecture strategy, integration, and deployment activities across analytics space.
Cultivate strong business relationships by demonstrating an understanding of related processes, requirements, systems, and terminology. A strong candidate will have expertise in transforming business reporting from Excel to enterprise analytics.
Partner with stakeholder teams across business units to document necessary business cases to frame opportunities, benefits, and risks to decide on a course of action
Stay current with stakeholder needs and strategies by developing a communication process utilizing formal and informal methods to communicate updates and findings and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (e.g. senior management, customers, technical staff)
Work with business and IT Leadership to develop IT strategies and technical roadmaps
Coordinate, influence, and gain alignment of cross-functional business & IT teams to develop scalable and strategic solutions that meet business needs
Assist in the project delivery of multi-business technology solutions and must have significant exposure to and demonstrated proficiency in the areas of analysis, design, software requirements, configuration, testing, and implementation.
Partner with software vendors on functionality roadmaps and critical issues to ensure vendor solutions are aligned with business roadmaps and initiatives
Maintain awareness of best practices including processes and technology and identify opportunities for improvement of existing functionality to support business processes
Analyze and interpret information technology proposals and evaluate and develop alternative implementation plans
Lead cross functional meetings & organize/deliver information to audiences at all levels within the company, including executive stakeholders
Handle multiple engagements simultaneously without compromising accountability or reducing level of engagement
Provide work leadership and direction to junior analysts within the team; to mentor and elevate their level of capabilities
Develop strong working relationships with business partners, peer IT teams and vendors


Requirements:

Experience: 6+ years of experience in Information Systems or related area with proven experience as a business analyst
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical area
In depth understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls, data modeling methodology in a medallion architecture
Experience developing and communicating a capability/application roadmap
Computer skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, SQL, BigQuery or similar cloud based technologies
Communication skills: Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to tell the "story".Experience communicating technical information to stakeholders, peers, senior management, and non-technical team members.Experience communicating functional requirements to highly technical team members.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across the team with a growth mindset towards action and learning
Ability to work independently and set priorities based on key milestones, impact to strategic initiatives and high-level direction of management
Extensive strategic problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and demonstrate sound decision quality
Advanced ability to build relationships and influence strategy
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-paced environment
