Job description

Do you love aviation? Come join us in the Aviation Technology Center office! You'll get to help faculty, students, and various aviation companies that use our facilities.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
  • Customer service skills to help people over the phone, in person, and email.
  • Professional telephone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills, and good grammar and spelling.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, email, and other web applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete projects by their given deadline.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment;
or
b. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters;
and
c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs or their designee.
Position Details:
This Student Assistant 1 position is located at the Aviation Technology Center at Merrill Field Airport in Anchorage, AK. Pay is $18.00/hour. Candidate must be able to work between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday and will be scheduled up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
