Job description

Position Objective: In this job, the team member will be the primary customer service contact for a group of grain locations to provide grain bids, hours of operation and answer other customer or vendor questions. This position will also execute basic grain accounting functions such as grain settlements, contracts and position reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Answer phone calls and walk in customers providing grain bids, hours of operation and answering other customer questions or directing inquiries to the appropriate CFS employee.
  • Operational functions of grain receiving, weighing, grading. Preferred ability to also assist with outside elevator operations as needed including grain receiving and shipping, train loading, housekeeping, etc.
  • Perform accounting tasks including grain settlements, grain contracts and daily position reports and other reports as needed.
  • Monitor contracts and other documents for customer signatures, following up with customers and GPPS reps to ensure signatures are executed.
  • Maintain document files, bulletin boards and other necessary document organization and retention activities.
  • Provide basic administrative support to the GPPS reps and area operations manager such as filing, mailing, customer reminder calls, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Ensure business office it maintained in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
  • Know and follow all company safety policies/procedures.
  • Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance.
  • Assist other department within the company as needed.

Requirements
  • High school graduate, post-secondary accounting training preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of customer service and/or accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated, strong customer service orientation and experience.
  • Willingness to work extended hours on a seasonal basis.
  • Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially while moving back and forth on different tasks
