POSITION: SVP Finance or CFO: Depending on Experience

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This role leads the Accounting, Financial Analyst, Risk Management, Compliance and Audit Teams in planning, development, implementation, reporting and maintenance on all aspects of credit union financial and risk matters. Provides information to analyze and forecast financial trends, control risk and ensure profitability. As an organizational leader, is responsible for working effectively with all stakeholders, reporting key results to the organization, and achieving the key objectives of the organization. Serves as a member of the executive team.

This position is eligible for the hybrid work program.

EXECUTIVE TEAM: As a member of the executive team, assist the President in preparing short-term and long-range strategic planning; establish a budget for lending departments and initiatives and ensures that budgeted goals are achieved, and cost objectives are met. Develop and monitor all lending departmental budgets. Attend board meetings and report on assigned areas of responsibility.

EXPERIENCE:

10–15 years of similar or related experience.

Experience with financial governance, supervisory management, financial projections, strategic planning, and compliance management.

Experience leading initiatives involving both technical and business stakeholders

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Proficiency developing and overseeing financial, statistical and accounting records.

Financial Leadership such as strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, and financial statement analysis, including strong understanding of lending and deposit operations; Data & Financial Analytics such as modeling, KPI development, scenario planning, forecasting, and trend analysis.

Effective risk, issue, dependency, and decision management skills.

Compliance and Regulatory knowledge of NCUA regulations, BSA, Consumer financial regulations, and policy and procedure oversight

Expertise in Asset Liability Management (ALM); Liquidity and capital planning; Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) leadership; Treasury and investment portfolio management; and understanding of FFIEC guidance


Preferred Qualification:

Executive-level experience at a credit union, bank, or regulated financial institution, reporting directly to CEO, Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee

Experience managing organizational growth, mergers, acquisitions, or significant business transformations

Microsoft Office Proficient

EDUCATION: (1) A master's degree, or (2) a bachelor's degree plus professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA).

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must perform the following physical tasks: Speaking on the telephone approximately 20% percent of workday. May need to shovel snow occasionally outside the office to clear sidewalks, etc. Continuous sitting, standing, talking, and listening for extended periods of time, use of hands in repetitive tasks such as typing and writing, speaking, and hearing for interaction with members and coworkers, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less for processing of member transactions and computer usage, and memory demands in recalling Credit Union policies, services, and state and federal regulations. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds to move supplies or office equipment, bending, squatting, or kneeling to reach supplies on ground level, reaching above shoulder level to reach supplies overhead.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is average and is impacted by computers, printers, scanners, phones, and other surrounding conversations. The credit union is located in Central Oregon and weather during the winter may impact travel. Seasonal fires may impact air quality.
