Fay School seeks a strategic, passionate, and experienced leader, to serve as its next CFO, a position that will commence on June 15, 2027.

Founded in 1866, Fay School was the first junior boarding school in the United States. With students from kindergarten through grade nine, Fay provides an extraordinary educational experience for a diverse population of students drawn from across the United States and 25 countries.

Chief Financial Officer Role

Fay is entering a period of promising change, with strong leadership, a clear appetite for strategy and iteration, and a community deeply invested in the schoolโ€™s future. Fay is a beloved institution with the potential to be even stronger through sharp planning and strategic financial oversight under the leadership of the next Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the schoolโ€™s financial management, business office operations, human resources, and legal and compliance functions. This position ensures the schoolโ€™s financial health, integrity, and long-term sustainability. The CFO works closely with the Head of School, sits on the leadership team, and serves as a liaison to the Board of Trustees, supporting finance, audit, and governance initiatives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • A strong track record of success in financial management, preferably in an educational or non-profit organization
  • Strong understanding of Human Resource management; SHRM or other HR certification preferred
  • Extensive experience handling legal matters, preferably in an educational or non-profit organization
