Description
We're looking for an experienced Professional Liability Senior Underwriter to join our growing US Corporate Professions team.
This is a highly market-facing role, combining technical underwriting with broker development and portfolio growth. You'll play a key part in expanding our presence across the US market, building strong broker relationships whilst underwriting a broad range of professional liability risks.
Working as part of a portfolio with ambitious growth plans, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the business whilst collaborating closely with colleagues across both the US and UK.
About the role
Our Professions portfolio has been underwriting US business for more than 20 years and continues to be a significant growth area for CFC. As we continue to invest in our North American proposition, we're looking for a Senior Underwriter to help drive the next phase of expansion.
You'll be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business across a range of Corporate Professions. Alongside technical underwriting responsibilities, you'll spend significant time building and developing broker relationships, identifying new opportunities and acting as a key representative of CFC in the market.
This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team whilst enjoying the autonomy and influence that comes with helping grow an evolving onshore presence. You'll work closely with underwriting, product and claims colleagues to ensure we continue delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our broker partners and insureds.
About you
You'll be an experienced Professional Liability Underwriter with a strong understanding of the US market and a genuine passion for building relationships.
You will likely have:
  • Proven experience underwriting Professional Liability, E&O or related Professional Lines business.
  • Strong broker development and relationship management skills.
  • A track record of generating new business and growing profitable portfolios.
  • Excellent underwriting judgement and commercial acumen.
  • The ability to balance technical underwriting expertise with a highly market-facing approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the desire to help build something for the long term.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to support broker engagement and business development opportunities.
