Job description

Citi is seeking a Custody Product Manager to lead the strategic design, commercialization, and evolution of its North America Custody business, with deep focus on Global Custody, clearing, financial market infrastructure connectivity, and credit and risk management. In this role, you will shape and deliver the product roadmap for custody and clearing solutions serving asset managers, asset owners, and financial institution clients at global scale. This is a high-impact opportunity to define the future of post-trade securities services within one of the world's leading financial institutions.
Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the North America Custody product roadmap, prioritizing securities clearing capabilities, financial market infrastructure connectivity, and credit and risk management solutions in response to market demand and competitive dynamics.
  • Partner with Sales and Client Executive teams throughout the sales cycle, applying deep expertise across the post-trade securities lifecycle to advance and close custody and clearing mandates.
  • Manage the Custody PNL across key client segments, setting and achieving revenue targets, capital efficiency goals, and profitability outcomes.
  • Design innovative pricing frameworks - including tiered, bundled, and credit-adjusted models - and conduct profitability and risk-return analysis to inform product investment decisions.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for ETF and funds products, coordinating integration with market makers, authorized participants, and central clearing agencies to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior business, risk, and operations leaders at existing and prospective clients, participating in strategic business reviews to evaluate product performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Risk, and Operations teams to design and launch product enhancements that strengthen Citi's competitive position in Global Custody.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, clearing house changes, and financial market infrastructure modernization initiatives, translating market shifts into actionable product strategy.

Required qualifications & skills
  • A minimum of 6-10 years in securities services with substantive exposure to global custody, clearing, prime services, or post-trade products, including at least 3 years in a product management, product design, or solution architecture capacity within custody or clearing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage products or solutions connected to financial market infrastructures such as NSCC, FICC, or DTC, including deep familiarity with settlement, safekeeping, asset servicing, and central counterparty clearing flows.
  • Command of credit and risk management frameworks covering intraday credit, collateral management, exposure monitoring, margin requirements, and risk mitigation strategies within clearing environments.
  • Fluency in FMI connectivity protocols and messaging standards including SWIFT MT/MX and ISO 20022, alongside knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as SEC Rule 17f-5, ETF Rule 6c-11, and UCITS applicable to custody and clearing.
  • Experience leading RFP processes, client negotiations, and fee and legal negotiations, with a record of securing and retaining mandates in competitive environments.
  • Advanced financial modeling and P&L management skills, with the ability to conduct pricing analysis and risk-return assessments at both client and product levels.
  • Familiarity with asset manager and fund technology ecosystems - including order management systems, portfolio management systems, and accounting platforms - and API-driven integration models.
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Beneficial skills & qualifications
  • Experience at a leading global custodian, clearing broker, or financial market infrastructure provider, with a record of designing and launching successful custody or clearing products.
  • Background in ETF operations, fund administration, or risk management, including experience with primary and secondary market flows across traditional, alternative, and ETF strategies.
  • Applied experience with digital assets, blockchain technology, and associated post-trade infrastructure in a securities services context.
  • Aptitude for applying AI and advanced data analytics in financial services to improve client outcomes, operational scale, and commercial performance.
  • Industry certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA.
