Position Title: Civil Engineer

Location:Primarily on-site at Project Location Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: 55.00-$60.00/ hour

Reports To:

This position reports functionally Client Representative for functional/project oversight and CES Company Representative employment, performance management, and contractual administration.


Position Overview

The Civil Engineer is responsible for providing inspection services for the MTA Roof Repair Project at the Coney Island Overhaul Shop. The scope of work includes restoring the facility's roofs to a State of Good Repair through repair, replacement, and rebuilding as needed. Additionally, the project involves upgrading the Shop's aging heating units to enhance structural integrity and extend the longevity of the building's exterior systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspection services for roof repairs
  • Ensure full-time monitoring of all construction activities to guarantee compliance with project specifications
  • Conduct continuous technical inspections to confirm that quality measures are implemented daily
  • Prepare daily field technical reports and computations; collect and document initial, progress,
    and final photographs
  • Conduct substantial and final inspections alongside the supervisor and designated personnel
  • Verify contractor adherence to contract requirements, quality control standards, and safety protocols
  • Perform additional related duties as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical)
  • MTA NYCT project experience
  • OSHA 30-hour

Preferred Certifications

  • 4-hour scaffolding user
  • NYCT track safety training
  • NYCT PMG 123
  • SST 62 hours is preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office

Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Perform additional project control related duties as required.
