About the role
The CDL Driver II will perform duties associated with transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Reworld facilities and client sites. Drivers will operate a variety of manual and automatic transmission equipment including tankers, roll off trucks, end dumps, walking floor trailers, and vans. Drivers may perform multiple equipment types in a single day.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive commercial vehicles to safely transport goods and materials according to DOT regulations and scheduled appointments.
  • Operate trucks and specialized equipment including pumps, wet kits, vac kits, PTO pumps when required.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Complete administrative tasks and paperwork tied to hazardous and non-hazardous transport including manifests, bills of lading, medical waste tracking, logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspections, and incident reports.
  • Ensure vehicle placarding meets all DOT requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, customers, and other drivers.
  • Safely operate vehicles and uphold safety standards for self, coworkers, clients, and the public.
  • Interpret maps and follow written and verbal delivery directions.
  • Complete additional assigned duties.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • CDL Class A required.
  • Hazmat is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2+ years CDL driving experience.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Home daily / regional work as assigned (within a 5-hour window of Asheboro).

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with roll offs, end dumps, walking floor trailers, or landfill/waste operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, and work from heights or confined spaces.
  • Ability to grab, grip, reach, push, pull, and lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Visual and hearing ability required.

Schedule & Routes
  • Typical start time of 1-2 AM
  • Typical shifts 11-12 hours.
  • Routes primarily Asheboro to Lorton, VA.
  • Driving generally within a 5-hour radius (NC, VA, Tennessee).
  • Mostly home daily; rare overnight trips.

Pay Transparency

The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 25.10 - 33.37 USD per hour
