Job description

CES Consulting, LLC, is an engineering and construction management firm focused on quality, safety, compliance, innovation, and value. The firm was founded in 2010 by three professionals passionate about resolving complex construction, time, and cost issues to ensure that transportation and civil infrastructure are safe, durable, and compliant. Over the years, CES expanded its services to include utility management, construction at-risk, and civil engineering services.

CES is also a VDOT pre-qualified contractor specializing in the construction of interstate and roadway lighting, overhead and ground-mounted signs, traffic signals, electrical work ITS, and roadway construction.

We seek to hire several Construction Laborers/Truck Drivers to support our clients in the Northern Virginia area (Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington, and Fauquier counties).

Position Summary:

The primary skills required include excavating, hand digging, and backfilling to install foundations for ground mounts and overhead signs, structures, light poles, traffic signals, and junction boxes. Other typical laborer activities associated with the support of excavation include but are not limited to mixing grout, tieback fabrication, drilling assistance, digging trenches, cleaning up debris, and other duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform flagging, traffic closures, and relevant tasks as assigned.
  • Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials.
  • Installation of erosion and sediment controls (i.e., silt fence, super silt fence, gutter buddies, etc.).
  • Must be willing to perform manual labor-related tasks to support projects.
  • Transport materials, tools and equipment to/from installation sites.
  • Work on a variety of tasks within any given day.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

  • Work in outdoor environments in all seasons
  • Be comfortable working alongside heavy equipment, high-speed traffic, and communicating with operators, workers, and pedestrians.
  • Be comfortable working at heights and confined spaces with safety equipment and training.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting (over 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and squatting daily
  • Experience with picks, shovels, power tools, and air tools for excavation
  • Must be reliable and possess active/current driver's license
  • Class A CDL highly preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
