Biloxi, Mississippi, United States Job Openings Radiologic Technologist

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Pascagoula, Biloxi, Gulfport, MS

Openings: 3

Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Escorts patients to imaging rooms, provides verbal and written instructions and assists patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explains procedures and observes patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
  • Operates radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Positions radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to the specification of examination. Takes x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
  • Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members. Ensures radiologic equipment remains in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to Lead RT.
  • Retrieves radiologic orders from and input related data into the electronic medical record.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school for x-ray technicians with a current licensure in Mississippi
  • Minimum of 2 years experience preferred
  • Must have the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification

Other Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours a day; includes walking, stooping and bending
  • Must be able to move equipment and transfer patients
  • Proficiency of electronic records systems preferred. Must have strong data entry skills
  • Must be able to complete tasks with a high-degree of efficiency and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions
  • Must demonstrate ability to analyze data and resolve complex problems
  • Must have the ability to work independently while managing time and workload appropriately
  • Must be able to travel to various locations and work overtime hours as needed
