Job description

Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRS)

This position is for a full-time Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRS) and such offering shall be at the discretion of Cedar Recovery based upon the needs of the company and request of the potential candidate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide recovery education and support to Cedar Recovery’s patients at all phases of treatment
  • Facilitate recovery planning activities with patients
  • Identify and coordinate community resources for patients (housing, food, work, education, relationships, etc.)
  • Coordinate care with providers with whom patients are engaged with via Cedar’s PIC Center.
  • Act as a community liaison for Cedar to develop referral relationships and promote the reputation of Cedar in the areas Cedar serves
  • Link individuals to appropriate community-based groups and resources
  • Remain connected by phone or email to Cedar’s patients for purposes of ensuring their on-going success and engagement in their respective program
  • Lead individual or group peer recovery sessions as directed by the peer’s supervisor

 Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist by the TN Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services
  • A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated recovery from a substance use and/or mental health disorder
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Excellent verbal and relationship building skills


Compensation: $20-23 hr.
