What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Certified PCA, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Certified PCA (Personal Care Assistant), you need foundational knowledge of personal care procedures, basic health monitoring, and a certification from an accredited PCA training program. Familiarity with assistive devices, electronic care documentation systems, and infection control protocols is often required. Compassion, patience, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for building trust with clients and supporting their daily needs.
