Job description

New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Associate for a client located in East Houston, TX to join our team. This is a contract to hire opportunity.

Pay: $17/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week from 8:00am to 5:00pm


Summary

Responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations including shipping and receiving, material handling, inventory control, and safe operation of forklifts and other warehouse machinery. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.


Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders
Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders accurately and on time
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move, load, and unload materials
Stage materials for production, delivery, or customer pickup
Maintain accurate inventory records through manual logs or warehouse systems
Label, tag, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory as needed
Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA guidelines
Assist with loading and unloading trucks as required
Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and warehouse staff
Identify and report damaged goods, discrepancies, or safety issues
Be proactive in improving efficiency and supporting team operations
Other duties may be assigned


Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required
Shipping and receiving or warehouse experience preferred
Forklift experience required; certification a plus
Ability to operate warehouse machinery safely and efficiently
Basic computer or inventory system knowledge preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, and move throughout the shift
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
