About this position

Performs data entry, basic computer operations, specimen collection, processing, and basic laboratory procedures. The Medical Laboratory Assistant continuously works towards providing quality service improvement and optimum support to the department and team members in achieving North Memorial- Maple Grove Hospital’s goals. Actively and consistently demonstrates the mission, vision, values and guiding principles of North Memorial-Maple Grove Hospital.

Requirements

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Experience

Experience

• Completion of an accredited program for Medical Laboratory Assistants or Medical Assistants.

OR

• Minimum of one-year current laboratory experience in a clinic or hospital setting.

OR

• Completion of a course in medical terminology and at least two semesters of college level biology and/or chemistry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to handle stressful situations.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple departments

Licensure/Certification

Hours per two week pay period: 80

Shift: Day/Evening 8 hours

Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Benefit Eligibility: Health insurance benefits are available for this position. North Memorial Health offers multiple health plans based on work group eligibility.

Salary Range: S13 ($19.65 - $27.52), based on experience

Shift Differential: Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.

Employment Sponsorship: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
