Dermatology Consultants, P.C. is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. We are searching for a candidate with a friendly demeanor, great attitude and patient-focused work ethic. The MA will assist and perform a wide variety of patient care activities including, but not limited to, preparing patients for examination, set-up and assist the provider for all medical and elective procedures. Candidates must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a team player, dependable, have strong customer service skills, eager, compassionate, type efficiently, communicate professionally, self-motivated, multitask, and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients
  • Perform basic patient assessment procedures including histories and vital signs
  • Assist with biopsies, surgeries, and cosmetic procedures
  • Call patients with procedure results
  • E-Scribing prescriptions
  • Ensure all prior authorizations are handled in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assisting providers with patient care, including in-office procedures.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and wound care.
  • Knowledge of instrument cleaning/sterilization and care.
  • Obtaining medical history and accurately documenting visit EMA
  • Schedule appointments
  • Stock rooms with needed supplies
  • Maintain general housekeeping duties
  • Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background check.
  • EMR experience (Nextech a plus!)
  • Follow infection control and regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a desire to learn new skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem solving skills
  • Capable of working independently while remaining an integral part of the back office team
  • Professional communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in USA.
  • Previous employment record that reflects work stability, as indicated by an average work tenure for previous jobs of at least one year.
  • Individual who can handle high patient volumes and fast pace.
  • Excellent attendance, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
