Overview Intern, Full-Time - Maintenance in Granular Mechanics and Regolith Operations LOCATION: Cape Canaveral, FL JOB STATUS: Full-time CLEARANCE: BI investigation CERTIFICATION: N/A TRAVEL: Limited; as needed Must be US citizen This temporary summer position is for a student studying in a science or engineer field. Work will be performed onsite at Kennedy Space Center in the Engineering, Scientific, and Research Laboratories. Work is performed under immediate supervision with guidance from scientists and engineers.

Scientific disciplines include biology, biochemistry, botany, chemistry, physics, materials, corrosion, microbiology, plant physiology, plant and soil science, or related fields. Engineering disciplines include mechanical, electrical, aerospace, propulsion, structures, materials, corrosion, nondestructive evaluation, thermal, fluids, image analysis, and chemical. The position will primarily provide support to the laboratories that they work in such as supporting project work, organizing, inventorying chemicals, developing documentation, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS : Enrollment in a degree program in science or engineering Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a NASA background investigation Must be able to pass initial and random drug testing Must have and maintain a valid driver's license DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS: Basic computer proficiency for viewing work instructions, drawings, specifications, and producing reports Experience using fabrication and test equipment, including hand tools, measurement instruments, and torque tools Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment (e.g., digital multimeters, power supplies) Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical work instructions Software: LabVIEW, Creo Manufacturing: Lathe, CNC Router, Waterjet Cutter Sensors & Hardware: Pressure transducers, DC brushless motors, FPGAs, Torque Sensors, Magnetic Particle Brakes, Pneumatic Brakes, Thermocouples, RTDs, Diodes, Heaters Communication Protocols: CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, RS232, Modbus Experience with vacuum chambers is a plus RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform position related duties and responsibilities as directed Willingness to learn from experienced technicians and engineers Strong attendance, dependability, and punctuality Commitment to performing all work safely in accordance with NASA and company safety standards Work Schedule Expectations Full-time schedule, typically Monday-Friday #CJ #LI-CK1
