Job Description
Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Java Developer for a 100% remote contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative yet autonomous environment and enjoys solving complex backend challenges with minimal guidance.
Location
Orlando, FL - 100% remote
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience with Java (Java 13+ preferred; Java 8 acceptable with strong fundamentals)
Skilled in creating tables and writing complex queries with SQL
Experience building RESTful microservices
Familiarity with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services supporting both the mobile app and OAM platform.
Build and optimize REST-based microservices.
Write and maintain complex SQL queries; perform database-level modifications (DBL).
Collaborate with the Technical Lead through ad hoc meetings and stand-ups.
Estimate work effort and deliver on self-managed timelines.
Contribute to the mobile-first owner experience by integrating backend features across platforms.
Must-Have Qualifications
Java Expertise: 3–5 years experience with Java (Java 13+ preferred; Java 8 acceptable).
SQL Proficiency: 2+ years working with relational databases; skilled in creating tables and writing complex queries.
Self-Starter Mindset: Comfortable working with minimal requirements; strong problem-solving skills and ability to set and commit to realistic timelines.
API Development: Experience building RESTful microservices.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with JSPs.
Familiarity with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
Background in hospitality or customer-facing platforms.
Oracle database knowledge.
Exposure to Angular or mobile app development.
