IBM MQ Series Developer Solace Migration Experience
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite/Hybrid)
Duration: Contract 6* Months 
 
Job Summary
 
We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Series Developer with strong expertise in Solace migration to join our integration team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise messaging solutions while leading or contributing to the migration of IBM MQ-based messaging systems to Solace PubSub+. The role requires deep knowledge of messaging middleware, integration patterns, and distributed systems.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain messaging solutions using IBM MQ.
  • Analyze existing IBM MQ infrastructure and plan migration strategies to Solace PubSub+.
  • Develop and configure Solace queues, topics, VPNs, and event-driven messaging solutions.
  • Collaborate with architects and development teams to redesign integration patterns for Solace-based architecture.
  • Perform message transformation, routing, and orchestration using Java/J2EE or other integration technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve messaging, connectivity, and performance issues in IBM MQ and Solace environments.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and performance tuning of migrated messaging applications.
  • Prepare technical documentation, migration runbooks, and support transition activities.
  • Ensure high availability, security, and reliability of enterprise messaging platforms.
 
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in IBM MQ development and administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Solace PubSub+ implementation and migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of publish/subscribe messaging, queues, topics, and event-driven architecture.
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, JMS, REST APIs, and messaging integration frameworks.
  • Experience with XML, JSON, SOAP, and message transformation technologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools for IBM MQ and Solace.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, and Agile methodologies.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise migration projects from IBM MQ to Solace.
  • Solace certification or IBM MQ certification.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
