Job description

Campus Location: Aviation Institute of Maintenance, 4100 Raytown Rd. Kansas City, MO 64111

Compensation: Up to $30.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications

Help Students Launch Careers in Aviation

Every career has the potential to change a life-but some careers let you help change lives every single day.

At Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM), our Admissions Representatives are often the first person a prospective student speaks with about a future in aviation maintenance. Whether someone is pursuing a lifelong passion for aircraft or looking for a new career with long-term stability, you'll help them understand their options, answer their questions, and confidently navigate the enrollment process.

This is more than an admissions role. It's a consultative sales position where success comes from building relationships, earning trust, and guiding prospective students from their first inquiry through enrollment. If your background includes inside sales, admissions, recruiting, enrollment, customer service, or account management, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while achieving measurable performance goals.

Every student you enroll represents someone taking the first step toward becoming an FAA-certified aviation maintenance technician and joining an industry that keeps aircraft flying safely around the world. If you're motivated by helping people, exceeding goals, and making a lasting difference, we'd love to have you on our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high volume of prospective student inquiries through phone, email, and in-person or virtual meetings - responding with speed and professionalism
  • Assess each prospective student's goals, background, and eligibility to identify the right program fit
  • Guide students through every stage of the admissions process: inquiry, appointment setting, interview, application, documentation, and enrollment
  • Consistently meet and exceed enrollment KPIs, including outreach volume, contact-to-appointment conversion rates, application completion rates, and closing ratios
  • Proactively follow up with prospective students to keep momentum and resolve barriers to enrollment
  • Maintain accurate records of student application status and pipeline activity in the CRM
  • Represent AIM at open houses, career fairs, and community recruitment events
What We're Looking For

The strongest candidates for this role share a few things in common: they care deeply about the people they serve, they hold themselves accountable to their numbers, and they don't need to be managed to stay motivated. Specifically, we're looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about education and the difference a skilled trade career can make in a person's life
  • Brings consistent energy and a positive attitude - especially when the work gets challenging
  • Takes initiative without waiting to be asked; identifies what needs to happen and follows through
  • Has a strong track record in sales, admissions, or customer service with demonstrated results against performance metrics
  • Communicates clearly and authentically with a wide range of people
  • Stays organized, meets deadlines, and manages multiple priorities without dropping the ball
QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred

Experience

  • Proven experience in sales or customer service with a record of meeting or exceeding KPIs such as conversion rates, outreach goals, and closing ratios
  • One or more years of admissions experience in a proprietary (for-profit) post-secondary educational setting preferred

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences
  • Excellent time management and the ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable learning new CRM and enrollment management systems
  • Flexible availability for occasional evenings and one Saturday per month

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • One weekly late shift: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Monday-Thursday only)
  • One Saturday per month: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

What we Offer:

We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package that supports your personal and professional well-being. Full-time employees are eligible for the following benefits:

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance available first day of employment
  • Life insurance options
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid time off (PTO) to promote work-life balance
  • Tuition reimbursement for continued education
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for personal and professional support

We are committed to fostering a workplace that values integrity, growth, and student success.
