Job Description:

North Central Surgical Center is currently seeking a Full-Time PeriOp Tech/Retractor Holder in our Main Operating Room. Under the supervision of Surgical Services Leadership, the Retractor Holder is responsible for:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision, holds retractors in the operative suite.
  • Provides transportation of patients to and from surgery.
  • Insures relevant cleaning measures for the control and prevention of infection. Includes cleaning, disinfecting, and disposal of soiled linen and solid waste
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation for following procedures in a timely manner.
  • Collect and properly dispose of all wastes including biohazardous materials
  • Assists with limited patient care in the operating, recovery, and procedure rooms as needed, specified, and directed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse

Required Skills

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED-ability to read/write/follow directions
  • Previous clinical experience in Operating Room environment desired.
  • Current certification in BLS
  • Possess the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks.
  • Possess the ability to perform routine repetitive cleaning of assigned rooms, offices, rest rooms and other areas.
  • Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition.
  • Hospital experience 2-5 years
  • Recommended Pyxis and Cerner
