Job description

Provide professional pharmacist coverage in a state high-security psychiatric hospital pharmacy setting, supporting medication dispensing with a focus on accuracy and safety. This temporary role offers a weekday schedule, working within a pharmacy separate from the secure perimeter, minimizing direct patient contact.
Location: Fulton, MO
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Pharmacy closed on Missouri state holidays
  • No weekend or on-call duties
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pharmacist checks on medication bags prepared by pharmacy technicians using the Parata ATP2 Packager, including reviewing flagged bags via InspectRx, repackaging, and correcting bag contents
  • Verify medications through barcode scanning after technician filling
  • Provide order verification support as needed; behavioral health experience is not required
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff including Director of Pharmacy, clinical management, pharmacist residents, and informatics pharmacists for troubleshooting and support
  • Complete approximately three days of training on Oracle/Cerner order entry system and automation equipment prior to starting
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
  • Active Missouri pharmacist license required
  • No prior experience necessary with Oracle/Cerner or Parata ATP2 Packager; comprehensive training will be provided
  • Ability to work effectively in a pharmacy team environment
  • Local candidates preferred due to onsite training and scheduling needs

Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs of any color
This contract assignment begins in early September and continues until a permanent pharmacist is hired. Candidates should be able to commit to the specified coverage hours and work exclusively within the pharmacy facility.
