Description

American Traveler is hiring an IR/Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT-R certification for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details
  • Interventional Radiology / Cath Lab unit within a hospital setting
  • 5x8-hour day shifts (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 0700-1530; Wed 0700-1730) or 4x10-hour day shifts (0700-1730)
  • No on-call or weekend requirements
  • Every other holiday coverage required
  • Handles cases in CT and X-ray, though floating to these areas is not required
  • Scrubbing required for interventional radiology, vascular, and pain management procedures
  • Uses Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm equipment
  • Cerner charting system experience required
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of IR/Cath Lab experience within the last 7 years
  • ARRT-R, ACLS, BLS, and Fluoro Permit required
  • MD license required if applicable, or compact license accepted
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Proficiency with Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm operation
  • Experience with tunneled catheter placements, embolizations, drain placements, PEG tube placements, and Pleurx catheter placements
  • Experience with pain management procedures including epidural blocks and radiofrequency ablations
  • Experience with vascular procedures including angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, and IVC filter placements
  • Skilled in EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Experience with abdominal, pelvic, vascular, neurological, and genitourinary interventional procedures
  • IV start proficiency preferred
Additional Information
  • Perform interventional radiology procedures including embolizations, catheter placements, and drain placements
  • Perform pain management procedures including epidural blocks and radiofrequency ablations
  • Perform vascular procedures including angiograms, thrombectomies, and fistulograms
  • Assist with neurological procedures such as carotid angiography and stent placement
  • Assist with genitourinary procedures including biliary and ureteral stent placements
  • No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
  • Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • Orientation begins every Monday
