Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 2+ years of pre/post procedural experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details
  • Work in the Cath Lab, EP Lab, and IR Prep and Recovery units
  • Average daily census of 15-30 patients across 12 rooms
  • Day/evening shift options: 3x12 hours, 6am-6pm or 9am-9pm
  • No on-call, no holidays, and no weekends required
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • Precepting is required
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
  • Pre/post procedural experience required; Cath Lab, IR, and EP Lab experience preferred
  • Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration), pacemakers, and pre/post cardiac cath care including TR Band
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
Additional Information
  • Provide pre and post procedural nursing care for Cath Lab, EP Lab, and IR patients
  • Scrubs are provided
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
  • Must reside within 60 miles for local rate consideration; driver's license address used to verify local status
  • Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required
