Job description

VCG is looking for a Cerner Clinical Informatics Analyst for an informatics project based on the West coast. Valid candidates would need to have experience in the following areas: 

  • Provides and engages in clinical design sessions with stakeholders' team across 3 health organizations and summarizes feedback for the working groups.
  • Participates in and/or leads design sessions.
  • Reviews workflows, operating procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supports standardization of care practice and associated workflow processes across the care settings.
  • Presents and prepares content and decisions to governance committees.
  • Provides clinical instruction to new and existing staff. Facilitates learning by using the clinical information system to show clinical workflow and practices to staff in a classroom or at designated workstation, promoting skill development.
  • Provides on-site elbow-to-elbow support at go-live.
  • Works with the team to develop, review, and modify learning resources: reference documents, and manuals for team members and HO staff/providers ensuring content reflects the most up-to-date.
  • Provides phone support to staff/providers to troubleshoot and resolve any system issues and/or user difficulties experienced.
  • Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness of education programs, activities and resources by analyzing learning outcomes.
  • Configuring and building using the Cerner build tools.
  • Validates specification documentation.
  • Develops detailed application specifications.
  • Documents changes in user processes and assists with business process redesign.

  • Will need to travel outside within and outside Vancouver and within the province of British Columbia
  • Hours worked may vary depending on the phase of the project we are in. (potential 24hour support)

  • Ability to teach, demonstrates, facilitate, engage and lead in a classroom setting.
  • Experience with learner assessment and providing feedback.
  • Proficiency with current computer applications and equipment
  • Able to develop educational materials.
  • Represent your clinical specialty and across the continuum of care.
  • Knowledge of Canadian clinical practice and work flows in other health care settings. 
  • Knowledge of workflows in own clinical area and others. 
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
