Health Center Inc. (also known as The New York Hotel Trades Council and Hotel Association of NYC, Inc Employee Benefit Funds) is an NYC based healthcare organization with ambulatory care facilities staffed with a wide range of health professionals to provide extensive medical and diagnostic services. We offer Primary Care, Dental, Radiological, Vision, Mental Health, and other Specialist services at our facilities at no charge to our Union members, removing the financial roadblock that many people face when trying to obtain quality medical care. We are seeking a Clinical Solutions Engineer to join our health care IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of Cerner applications used in clinical and operational settings. You will work closely with clinical stakeholders, IT professionals, and Cerner teams to maintain and enhance system functionality to meet organizational goals.


Position Qualifications


  • Develop, build, maintain, and troubleshoot HL7, FHIR, and other clinical interfaces and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain connections and processes for exchanging CCD/CCDA and other clinical data and concepts with Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs), as required by SHIN-NY
  • Develop and maintain other Health Information Exchange (HIE) connections (e.g., Commonwell/CareQuality).
  • Provide application and technical support for Cerner Millenium solutions, including PowerChart, RadNet, Orders Management, Endoscopy, and other clinical modules.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot CCL (Cerner Command Language) reports, scripts, and queries.
  • Configure, build, and support clinical workflows, rules, alerts, and documentation templates.
  • Troubleshoot complex application and system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical and application documentation, including system configurations, workflows, interfaces, and support procedures.
  • Participate in system upgrades, patches, testing, and release activities, including regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Collaborate with clinicians, operational stakeholders, and end users to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and deliver effective technical solutions


Preferred Technical Qualifications:


  • Experience developing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cerner interfaces with internal and external systems using HL7, FHIR APIs, and other integration technologies
  • Experience developing and maintaining connections to Regional Health Information organizations (RHIOs) and other Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) operating within the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) framework.
  • Working knowledge of TEFCA and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Experience with clinical data exchange, healthcare interoperability, and integration technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting Cerner Endoscopy and RadNet applications.
  • Experience integrating retail pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Experience developing, modifying, maintaining customer Cerner mPages
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Cerner Millennium ambulatory applications and associated clinical workflows
  • Experience with Cerner application configuration and development, including Dynamic Documentation, Cerner Command Language (CCL), Olympus, Bedrock, Discern, Core Event Manager, and related tools



Education and Experience


  • Minimum four (4) years of IT experience in a complex health care environment, preferably in ambulatory care
  • IT related experience that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run lcinical and business systems
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field


Salary: $125,000-$135,000 annually
