Roberts Sinto is currently seeking a Controls Engineer II to join our Team in Grand Ledge, MI


What You Will Do

As a Controls Engineer II, you will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of integrated automation systems—from concept through site acceptance. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing electrical control systems (schematics, panel layouts, I/O wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Designing hydraulic and pneumatic circuits for machine functionality.
  • Developing PLC and HMI software (Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal).
  • Selecting and integrating sensors, VFDs, servo motors, vision systems, and safety components.
  • Leading commissioning and debug phases at plant and customer sites (~25% travel).
  • Managing small to medium projects, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Authoring comprehensive Operator and Maintenance manuals for customer handoff.

What We Want From You
  • Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in industrial automation or controls engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in Rockwell Automation or Siemens environments.
    • Safety PLC programming and ISO 13849 compliance.
    • Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Link-IO).
    • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 79 standards.
  • Preferred: Robotic integration (FANUC, ABB, KUKA), Mitsubishi GX Works, Industry 4.0 concepts.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills and analyze/resolve problems.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel (~25% annually).
  • Comfortable working in environments with mechanical parts, electrical systems, and moderate noise.
