Job description

Job Summary:
The Detailing Specialist is responsible for the preparation, application, and finishing of XPEL Fusion and Fusion Premium ceramic coating products. This role ensures vehicles receive superior protection and appearance enhancement, meeting XPEL's quality standards and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Core Duties
Vehicle Preparation
  • Perform thorough vehicle washes, including chemical decontamination and clay bar treatment.
  • Conduct paint correction (single and multi-stage polishing) to eliminate surface defects prior to coating.
  • Mask off sensitive areas to prevent product overspray or damage.

Ceramic Coating Application
  • Apply XPEL Fusion / Fusion Premium coatings with precision according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensure even coverage, proper curing, and streak-free finishes.
  • Layer coatings when required for enhanced protection.

Quality Control
  • Inspect vehicles before and after coating to identify imperfections.
  • Conduct light-corrected inspections to ensure flawless results.
  • Perform final wipe-downs and finishing touches before delivery.

Customer Service & Professionalism
  • Communicate with service advisors and customers on coating benefits and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold XPEL brand standards.
  • Provide aftercare instructions and recommend XPEL maintenance products.

Shop Standards & Safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling chemicals and tools.
  • Track inventory of ceramic coating products and detailing supplies.

Basic Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 18+ years old with 2 years of driving experience.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must meet insurability requirements under the company's motor vehicle insurance policy.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in auto detailing, paint correction, or coating application.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle surfaces, paint systems, and surface preparation techniques.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering premium-quality work.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

Preferred
  • XPEL certification in paint correction and ceramic coating.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, luxury-focused install center.
  • Familiarity with paint protection film (PPF) and window tint installation.
