Job description

We are hiring immediately for a Maintenance Helper on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift for its manufacturing facility in Cleveland, OH.

  • 2nd Shift: 3:25pm-11:25pm - $1.25 shift premium
  • 3rd Shift: 11:20pm-7:20am - $1.50 shift premium

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience. The ability to perform in a high-volume work environment with speed and accuracy.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, ssupports the maintenance team in ensuring all equipment, building systems, and production support tools operate safely and efficiently. Assists mechanics and technicians with repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general facility upkeep to minimize downtime and maintain smooth plant operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

Equipment Support

  • Assist technicians with repairs on production equipment.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks: cleaning parts, removing guards, replacing simple components, organizing tools.
  • Help with lubrication, adjustments, and routine inspections.
  • Support machine changeovers and setups.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Complete scheduled cleaning, tightening, greasing, and visual checks.
  • Record work and report issues.
  • Keep tools and work areas clean and safe.

Facility & Utility Support

  • Assist with basic building repairs and general upkeep.
  • Support maintenance of compressors, HVAC, vacuum systems, and other utilities.
  • Maintain organized work / storage areas.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety rules, including lockout/tagout and PPE use.
  • Report unsafe conditions or equipment problems immediately.
  • Participate in required safety training.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a machine shop print/production environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, math, measuring skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices safely.
  • Comfortable working around moving machinery and in a fastpaced production environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently when needed, and communicate clearly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing or maintenance experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

  • Regular standing, walking, carrying, climbing, and reaching; frequent bending and stooping.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push up to 100 lbs., and pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Exposure to highoutput machinery, equipment, and materials such as inks, solvents, and adhesives (SDS available).
  • Work may occur in hot or cold conditions.
  • Compliance with all safety protocols, including required PPE such as hearing protection and safety shoes.
