Overview

As the Supervisor, Central Staffing, you will play a pivotal role in leading and growing our Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program, helping aspiring healthcare professionals launch meaningful careers while supporting the staffing needs of our ambulatory clinics.

In this highly collaborative role, you'll serve as a coach, mentor, and program leader, partnering with clinic leadership, educational organizations, and workforce development stakeholders to guide apprentices from onboarding through successful career placement. Purpose:  

The Supervisor, Central Staffing provides leadership for workforce development, onboarding, training, and apprenticeship programs that support OSUP's ambulatory workforce needs. The role partners with operational leaders, clinic teams, and educational organizations to enhance employee readiness, career development, and staffing sustainability across the organization.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Oversight

  • Oversees workforce development activities, including recruitment, onboarding, training, apprenticeship, and educational programs, to support staffing needs, employee development, retention, and career progression.
  • Provides direct supervision, coaching, mentoring and performance management to assigned employees and program participants.

Training, Operations, and Educational Programs

  • Coordinates workforce training and apprenticeship program activities, including scheduling, learning platform administration, participant support, and educational resources.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders, preceptors, educational partners, Stepful, and subject matter experts to ensure effective program delivery and learner success.
  • Oversees training logistics, participant tracking, competency validation, and educational documentation while evaluating program effectiveness through feedback, competency outcomes, operational metrics, and workforce performance indicators.

Reporting, Outcomes, and Continuous Improvement

  • Develops, maintains, and analyzes workforce development and apprenticeship metrics, reports, and program outcomes.
  • Monitors key performance indicators including enrollment, retention, graduation, certification, employment conversion, attendance, engagement, and participant success.
  • Utilizes performance data and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support workforce development strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement and Compliance

  • Serves as a primary liaison between OSUP, Stepful, clinic leadership, educational partners, workforce development organizations, preceptors, and participants, facilitating communication regarding program initiatives, participant progress, workforce needs, placement activities, and operational concerns.
  • Represents the program at recruitment events, workforce development initiatives, leadership meetings, and community outreach activities.
  • Ensures program activities comply with organizational policies, educational requirements, regulatory standards, documentation expectations, and program guidelines.

Additional Duties:

  • Required to complete all assigned training and competency requirements at hire and on an ongoing basis to maintain compliance with job-specific, regulatory, and organizational standards, including mandated topics such as privacy and workplace conduct. Partners with a manager or preceptor to address development needs and close skill gaps.
  • Will maintain compliance with required dress code in order to provide high quality of care and service.
  • Travel may be required to accommodate staffing levels at other clinical facilities.
  • Attendance, promptness, professionalism, attention to detail, professional collaboration with all members of the care team, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients.
  • Engages in regular communication with supervisor(s) to review performance, receive constructive feedback, and align on goals and priorities. Actively seeks guidance and support when needed to ensure role expectations are met.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Requirements:   

  • Minimum of one (1) year of leadership, supervisory, team lead, or preceptor experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Preferences:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience, such as Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, or related healthcare role (preferably at OSUP). 
  • Experience supporting ambulatory healthcare operations, workforce development, training, onboarding, staffing, or apprenticeship programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint, Excel, reporting tools, or similar workforce management systems.
  • Familiarity with Epic, ADP, or other healthcare scheduling and timekeeping systems preferred.
  • Associates degree or higher
Pay RangeUSD $24.36 - USD $36.48 /Hr.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
