JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the preventive, corrective, and annual maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Universal Kids Resort attraction ride vehicles. Responsible for following OEM specifications and requirements. Completes work orders for central services functions including the maintenance, welding, mechanical, creative fabrication, painting, fiberglass, hydraulics, and figure finish tasks to ensure proper show quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs disassembly and required repairs and replacements for mechanical components during annual inspections on ride vehicles using good engineering practices. Verifies all quality control and NDT requirements have been met prior to vehicle assembly. Assist in resort wide repairs on mechanical, electrical or plumbing systems.
  • Completes inspections and creates necessary work orders for discrepancies found in central services functions. Ensures materials inventory processes are being followed and align with technical procedures. Follows correct chain of command to notify Central Services Management when necessary.
  • Identifies mechanical system deficiencies and recommend immediate and long-term corrective action to decrease maintenance costs and decrease downtimes of ride vehicles. This process may require troubleshooting and referring to technical manuals, technical library and Maximo while utilizing a systematic approach.
  • Enters follow-up work orders for all discrepancies found in a timely manner. Documents all findings and work performed throughout the process of troubleshooting and performing repairs. Reports on labor in Maximo for all work performed. Demonstrates the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines to support a broader range of operational and project needs.
  • Performs repairs to equipment due to safety, reliability, or show quality issues found during preventative maintenance to improve ride reliability and show quality. Performs modifications per engineering team, both internal and third party or OEM specifications.
  • Completes PQS qualification of assigned annuals. Trains new Technicians to do work orders, recovery procedures, and processes. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Individual Contributor.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Must be willing to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends and to support seasonal maintenance initiatives.
  • Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.

EDUCATION: 

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate's or Technical degree in related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience with fiberglass repair/maintenance, automotive paint, mechanics, welding, hydraulics or general shop work and cleaning is required, experience with tools and small equipment required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
