Job Title: Sr Manager Cost Accounting

Function

Understand the corporate mission and vision statements and withinthat framework provide a critical leadership role within the corporateaccounting department. The role also provides critical support to Supply Chainand Finance Departments. Core Duties include 1) food cost reviews and cost ofsales analysis by store and in the aggregate, 2) profit margin analysis on foodcosts, and 3) lead accounting participant at cross functional brand meetings. Thereare significant changes that have occurred and will continue to occur in Steakn Shake's supply chain and menu offering so very important that individual caneasily adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.Responsible for inventory accounting and relatedcost of sales.

2.Coach the stores and above store leaders onproper food control and inventory count procedures,

3.Perform cost of sales analysis as a percentage ofnet sales store by store and on a consolidated basis.

4.Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain Departmentsat analyzing food cost margins on a routine basis.

5.Prepare and Present to Executives food costmargin caused from product changes, inflationary changes, changes in menupricing, packaging, product mix, etc.

6.Participate in cross functional brand meetingsto discuss menu products, packaging and supplies.

7.Keey inventory systems up to date for recipechanges, menu offering changes, product changes, etc.

8.Lead change to new software solution for inventory,food cost, variance to theoretical reporting, etc.

9.Calculate calories for menu requirements and completegovernment reporting to the Census Bureau.

10. Keycontact to the external auditors in their work related to quarterly reviews andannual audits.

11. Responsiblefor ensuring internal controls for their responsible areas are properlydesigned and executed to ensure operating effectiveness for compliance withSarbanes Oxley.

13. AssistPrincipal Accounting Officer and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members withrequests or projects as needed.

14. Supervisesupport staff and work closely with the Controller and Sr Manager of FinancialReporting as it relates to the financial statement close processes and otherteam projects.

15. Identifyimprovement opportunities across the Organization's functions, determinealternative courses of actions with those function leaders and implementprocess improvements. Continuous goal to reduce "waste" in processes andidentify cost savings.

Basic and Preferred Qualifications

-Four-year degree in finance or accounting

-8+ years of experience
