We are currently seeking a highly skilled and reliable Class A CDL Tanker Driver to join our team at SRM Concrete. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of cement from terminals to our concrete plants, supporting our mission to provide high-quality materials for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record, exceptional driving skills, and a dedication to meeting delivery schedules. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Class A CDL Tanker Driver to take on a vital role in our logistics chain, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of cement essential for our operations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from supply terminals to various concrete plant locations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with all regulations.
  • Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.
  • Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
  • Adhere to established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting hazardous materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, acting as a professional representative of the company.
  • Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Stay updated on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

Requirements:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Tanker Endorsement is helpful, but not always required
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in driving Class A tanker trucks.
  • Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for transporting materials.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and manage tasks that involve bending, lifting, and climbing.
  • Excellent time management skills to adhere to predetermined schedules.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with plant personnel and customers.
  • Willingness to undergo SRM's pre-employment screenings.
